Chapter 4: A Silent Strength

Hey girls, never wait for someone to walk with you when you want to go out—whether it’s shopping or just stepping outside. Be strong, be independent!

After moving to Chennai, one of the best things I’ve learned to enjoy is spending time alone. My favorite part? Walking alone to church, sitting there in silence, and praying without the comfort of a familiar circle around me. There’s a special peace in those quiet moments, just me and my thoughts.

I love walking alone to my dance class, especially across the bridge that connects East and West Tambaram. Traveling alone by train to Chrompet, buying my own ticket, crossing the busy signal in front of MCC—all of it makes me feel independent and strong. And there's a unique happiness in helping elderly people carry their heavy bags on the train or guiding them to the right bus. These little moments bring a quiet sense of fulfillment.

Walking slowly through my college campus, feeling the wind and observing life around me, is another joy I cherish. And every time I step off the train at East Tambaram Railway Station, I feel a wave of pride—a silent yet powerful reminder that I am an independent woman.

Walking alone is not just about being by yourself; it’s about finding strength in solitude. Try it, girls! You might just experience the magic of walking alone—the kind of quiet friendship that solitude offers.
